Meet Dr. Present
In 2012, 2014, and 2016 Dr. Present was selected as top dentist in Philadelphia Magazine.
Dr. Steven I. Present is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. a graduate of The University of Wisconsin and Temple University School of Dentistry where he graduated with honors and was elected to Omicron Kappa Upslion, the national dental honor society. He did postgraduate studies in microbiology and immunology at Thomas Jefferson Medical College and completed a program for the treatment of oral facial pain and temporomandibular disorders at The New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry. He has been treatment planning and restoring dental implants since 1988 and has published and lectured nationally and internationally on advanced and complex implant reconstruction and oral medicine.
Dr. Present is an associate professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry where he lectures on implant prosthetics and other subjects and was a clinical instructor at Manor College’s Expanded Duties Dental Assistant Program for 27 years. In addition he was the National Dental Advisor for Health Advocate Inc., a health advocacy and assistance company.
Dr. Present is a member of The American Dental Society and The Pennsylvania Dental Association. He is a Fellow of the prestigious International Team for Implantology of Basel Switzerland, The Northeast Dental Implant and Periodontal Prosthesis Study Club, Suburban Implant Study Club, The Academy of Osseointegration and its Subcommittee for Clinical Innovation and the committee for GP recruitment. He is a past contributor to The U.S. Pharmacopia Drug Information for Health Care Professionals Vol. VII, VIII, IX.
The recipient of numerous awards, Dr. Present received the Alpha Omega Award for the student with the highest grade point average over his four years at Temple University Dental School and was elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, The National Dental Honor Society. In addition he has received. The Johnson & Johnson Research Award, S.L. Rosenthal Award in Oral Medicine, The Isadore Auerbach Award, and a Fellowship from the American Cancer Society. He has been in partnership with Dr. Ronald Klein since 1990, with an emphasis on implant reconstructive dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and temporomandibular disorders.
Dr. Present currently lives in Meadowbrook Pennsylvania with his wife, Susan, and their Bedlington Terrier, “Brooklyn”. They have a married daughter, Julie, who is a graduate of Stanford University, has a PhD. from Drexel University in clinical psychology and has two grandchildren Sarah and Jonah. Julie’s husband, David Koller is an attorney in Philadelphia who practices labor law. He has a passion for Civil War History, has been involved in Civil War reenacting since 1995 and has appeared in the Warner Brothers production of Gods and Generals. Additional interests involve playing the banjo in The 69th Pennsylvania Irish Volunteer String Band, kayaking, travel, and wine.
